My best friend, who has been struggling for a long time, contacted Saneline on two separate occasions. She told me that on both occasions, the lady and man who dealt with her were very kind, understanding and empathetic. She told me that they 'got' her, understanding her and helping and responding in ways which she had yet to find in her current GP and counsellors, and some other helpline services. After detailing these conversations to me, and knowing her past history of struggling to try to find people who were able to truly care and actually help her, I have to agree. My friend has asked me to post this review on her behalf, which I am more than happy to do. Thank you Saneline for everything you do, and for being there, on behalf of us both.

Awful charity terrible service. It runs purely to the benefit of those who can be self congratulatory at the expense of individuals in need. Should be closed down or their assets absorbed into a decent charity like MIND. Do not donate or entertain these charlatans.

I enjoyed volunteering for this charity as a helpline volunteer in 2015/16 but recent comments in the Daily Mail from their CEO suggeting people shouldn't "play the victim" is unforgiveable and shows out out of touch Marjorie Wallace is.

Christina helped my friend Jones to do away with himsmelf , she turned all support workers against him , because of a difference of opinion which she shouldn't have been engaging with in the first place. They operate on outdated Microsfot systems which reveal callers details so that they can stigmitise their deserpate client base even further. They must be brought to justice perhaps they can hear their own generic message feed back to them at 100 votls PM. A team of software engineers should look into re adressing the operation of such unsupportive systems.

We need all the politicians and their policing supporters locked up jails for a month. We need help not a hindrance like Sameline. Who have no idea about empathy profesional conduct or human kindness . Just their own position . The cost of living is a joke the Christina virus is endemic my friend off’d themselves because . They carry on. They think that people should not know . I disagree . I think people should not what establishment they enter . Somewhere they can’t be vulnerable. To a free extent . No guarantee no service . If businesses like this had to deal with the public directly and not be secured by people like Starmer anytime they do something wrong , things would improve the virus would be dealt with and the mental ill treated with respect for at attempting to keep decent .

Patronising and robotic. Untrustworthy and no empathy. Middle class and entitled want people to fit a script to go with their own. Accused me of being someone called Mr Jones then said we are not taking calls from you. Apparently I couldn't be given the courtsey of a discussion. They labelled me as this bloke Jones and just repeated some random accusations. My mental health was at boiling point and I was feeling very low they didn't seem to care. They don't seem to have any training or real training for the area they purport to be dealing with. Wouldn't even permit me to have details to make a complaint. seem to push tickets to the here after.

Avoid this line as the brick wall approach and assembly line process of their system will leave you feeling even more empty and alone than before , you reached out. ( quit possibly ) That is if you are actually allowed to get through as if their busy you can't wait you need to keep phoning back. Their opening hours are a joke 16pm -10pm . For many people the late nights journey into the infancy of the morning is the worst time of all. Saneline used to be of the better services out there for people struggling with their mental health. However since they've re-opened their phone line I have to say they have chosen to fall into line with the other in out shake out all about lines that are marshalled by some script locked call handler who watches the clock for 30 mins to arrive. Personally I have chronic health conditions which I don't need a GP or ignorant Dr to tell me have had a detrimental effect on my mh when the specialist who treated me for my condition acknowledged that it did. However the GP's and MH service in my area have been obstructive when it came to getting help sane line was no balm to me either . Sane Line will just listen and sometimes make judgmental calls about situations or people they know nothing about , they never offer anything empowering or convey the feeling that they've heard your individual experience. One or two are capable of that but that's rare most sound very young and inexperienced of life in general. I find these phone lines more suffocating then helpful. They all seem to be locked into the same script , they also seem to confuse callers with other callers which can be dangerous and stigmatising for the actual caller at that moment in time. I think many Mentally ill people will never get the help they need and have to take DIY approach to get through day to day. Where as some people

I have been using the phone line throughout the pandemic, because I have had very little mental health support elsewhere. I have found the people I have spoken to, caring, non judgemental and empathic and would highly recommend this service to anyone in need of someone to talk to.
