My daughter got married in the rather lovely wood-panelled Tudor Court room. The registrar and celebrant were both lovely and couldn't do enough to help. So why only the 2 stars? It's because the Council can't be bothered to provide a proper, working sound system. They have a laughably inadequate CD player with 2 mini speakers on a table at the entrance to the venue. They advise you to either "burn a CD" or "bring your own player". On our day there I had a quick chat with one rather stoic "John" from the Council. I took a quick look at the CD unit in the 5 minutes I had before the ceremony began. I'd come prepared with a CD, USB stick and cables for every known audio interface. First he explained the audio input jack at the back of the unit didn't work. Then he regaled me with a tale of how, on a previous wedding, the bride and groom were happily walking out with their CD playing when the music suddenly stopped, becuase their CD wasn't compatible with the player, so they continued out on "the happiest day of their lives" in silence. I took a careful look at the front of the unit and spotted a USB input and SD card slot that he appeared to know nothing about. "We're in the stone-age here" he smiled at me. I gave him a hard stare and without actually saying "You have *one* bloody job, mate" I let him know he was causing maximum stress to already stressed people and needed to do something about it. When I asked for the name of his boss he replied, "It's ok, I'll take care of it". You know the Council's website says "Nothing is too much trouble for our dedicated staff, who will work with you to help you achieve a truly unforgettable day, full of treasured memories." Well they're right about one thing - you won't forget this experience.

As part of the University of Kent Classical and Archaeological Society, we came for a tour of the building and to see the museum. The tour was great, interactive, informative and fun. The museum has some great pieces too. Great price! Come check it out for sure.
