FAQ

What level of experience is required to participate in your mountaineering classes?

Our mountaineering classes cater to all levels of experience, from beginners to advanced climbers. Our instructors will tailor the class to your skill level and help you progress at your own pace.

What is the minimum age and weight limit for participants on the high ropes course?

Participants must be at least 10 years old and weigh no more than 120kg to use our high ropes course. This is for safety reasons and to ensure that everyone can safely navigate the course.

Are there any age or experience restrictions for using your rock climbing areas?

We welcome climbers of all ages and experience levels to use our rock climbing areas. Our instructors will provide guidance and support to help beginners get started, and more experienced climbers can challenge themselves on our more difficult routes.

What is the instructor-to-student ratio in your classes?

We maintain a low instructor-to-student ratio to ensure that everyone gets the attention and support they need. The ratio varies depending on the class and the skill levels of the participants, but we always aim to provide a personalized experience for each student.

How do you ensure the safety of participants during the classes?

Safety is our top priority, and we take a number of measures to ensure that all participants are safe during our classes. This includes thorough safety briefings, the use of appropriate safety equipment, regular equipment checks, and the presence of trained instructors at all times. We also have emergency procedures in place in case of any incidents.

I visited Sandwell ropes today with a peer. We paid £17 each for the high ropes and zip line on arrival. During the first section of the high ropes (costing £10), I began to feel uneasy and panicked, I then decided it would be best to do the low ropes instead of continuing any further on the high ropes. So I made my way back across the first small section and completed the low ropes (£7 cost) instead. I then also thought it would be best not to complete the zip line before attempting (costing £7) due to already feeling anxious so I made my way down to the bottom, while my peer completed both the activities he paid for. (My peer completed the zip line although the correct safety measures had not been followed as the staff member at the bottom of the zip line had no radio to communicate with the staff at the top of the zip line). I had only completed the low ropes however when I told the man on the counter this, he only offered for me to complete a different activity, in response to this I said “no I don’t want to do an activity, I feel unwell” and then he rudely said “so what do you want?” And brushed off my request completely. I want to add that it states no where that if you decide it is best not to complete an activity that you cannot receive a refund, so I expected a £10 refund. In this case, I paid £10 extra for no reason as the only activity I completed was £7. This disgusted me as they are taking advantage of vulnerable people who become uneasy or anxious, being spoken to rudely by the staff member topped off my terrible experience. I do not recommend.

This is a wonderful place to bring all the family. The instructors are very friendly and reassuring and always go the extra mile to accommodate those who may be a little scared to go on the course. They work well with children helping to build their confidence and overcome fears. I would recommend anyone adults and children to come and try this!

Very unprofessional and unorganised my children didnt get to do the challenges that were paid for as we ordered online and got there to be told they cant do them the owner was trying his hardest to get the workers to do it for them it took the workers to say to him do u really think it's safe to do it without the correct staff and as my children's safety is a priority I totally agreed No one really paid attention to the one time they did manage to get on the high ropes the owner was telling my child to come back tomorrow this and that without consulting us adults she had to try explain then he sent his young worker down to explain he didnt come face us once as he knew what a shambles it was :/ I would never return my children here it's a waste of money paid for challenges they couldnt do! Unprofessional and down right the worst high ropes experience my child also went on the fan descender which the workers didnt want to do it the owner/manager was adamant they could go on that much that his worker had to do a test run and she was heard saying it's this safe are u sure it's safe then as we left the area and were on the park opposite I have watched a worker and the owner on top of the fan fixing it after my child had already gone down it :/ I'd recomend u take your kids to a proper high ropes place as this is a joke!

not too sure if this is still open (I know there was at least major arson attack) - it is (was?) a nice place for people for to goto (although you could only use it when there was someone to supervise)... the high ropes themselves were 40ft high & it includes a climbing tower & a zip wire from there to the ground...
