We popped in again, during the day this time. We found a table, ordered and paid at the bar. Did not wait long. The food was very tasty, we had 2 meals for £11.99. My son had gammon, egg and chips. I had hunters chicken and chips. Good value for the money. Well worth paying a visit. Also you can sit outside in this warmer weather. We will go again !!

Food was FAR better than expected and we were very pleasantly surprised. We stumbled upon the Sandpiper after originally hoping to eat at the Ship in Distress, who unfortunately upon arrival told us no food served until 5pm...!! Found the Sandpiper a few minutes later and original thoughts were 'This will do' as we were all getting quite hungry. Upon entering this large open spaced and very clean, tidy pub we were greeted by a smiling young lady who let us know to take a seat anywhere and to order our food at the bar once we had made a decision with our order. This is not our usual type of pub as we generally look for smaller, quiet, tucked out of the way places with a cosy atmosphere. However, we were genuinely surprised by the very friendly staff, we liaised with 3 during our visit (2 young ladies and 1 tall young man) who were all approachable, smiling and as I said previously friendly.. Food arrived (3 separate meals) after a very short wait, it was hot, well presented and very enjoyable. I can highly recommend the mixed grill and it's good to find a place that serves a medium-rare stake when that is what you request...!! All in All a very enjoyable experience and we will certainly be returning in the very near future! Dean, Steph and the Mother-in-Law
