After speaking to 111 due to excruciatingly painful neck pain, they referred me to get a call back from SMP GP. Said GP was incredibly rude, accusing me of ‘ Accessed medical care inappropriately’ I understand they are under a lot of pressure and stress but this comment and ‘I have actual sick people I need to give a call back to’ was completely unprofessional. She then told me to ‘apply a warm flannel to the neck’ and fobbed me off. I told her that I did not want to be a patient at SMP anymore and she curtly replied ‘ok’ and hung up on me. I have now changed medical surgery to a different one. If your GP’s are under such stress and overworked then perhaps they should consider going on sick leave for stress because the next person they take their stress out on may be more affected than I was. Thanks to Salisbury walk in centre who later that day assessed me professionally and diagnosed me and prescribed medication accordingly. Salisbury medical practice receptionists are wonderful however.

I find it utterly impossible to get appt and speak to anyone as queuing on the phone for at least half hour, only to be told all slots are taken and to call back later or tomorrow. When I do see a Dr I have the best service ever.

Absolutely disgusted with this surgery! Made an appt and the doctor called me early to which I missed. I spent 45 minutes on hold to be told to call back tomorrow 😡 I am sick to death of this survey! Nothing but problems and they never answer complaints!

Waited 20 minutes to speak to someone and was fobbed off by a very rude receptionist. No stars. Unfortunately I have to give 1 star

I struggle to get appointments - my asthmatic child was told he’d have to wait 8 days for an appointment for his cough to be checked, and when I queried this the receptionist hung up on me. We ended up walking to the out of hours that evening to be seen instead - which I’m thankful for but the GP surgery should at least have appointments for kids that are sooner than 8 days time! Prescriptions get amended without reason - I’ve requested a medical patch in 50mg size as it’s easier to obtain due to stock issues and the practice have issued a script for 100mg which is (as always) out of stock, so now I am without meds until it gets reissued in the original requested dosage amount (which will no doubt take at least another 2 days to be authorised by the practice). No point ringing either as can never get through!

You should change the reception staff asap. I have only 1 question about the pills, i can get text message. Yes or No. but receptionist can’t send a message or ask GP or Pharmacist. Using pills for a health is important. But you need to know, if you have to stop to use other pills.

Fine, so long as you don't want an appointment, but pretty awful if you do. Knowing you're number 45 in the queue when you call certainly increases the level of anticipation - but prepare to be disappointed! Making a routine appointment is a particularly fun exercise: you either need to call within fifteen nanoseconds of new appointments "becoming available" (and the oh-so helpful reception staff can't/won't tell you when the optimal time to do that might be) or you need to engage with the fresh horror which goes by the name of PATCHS - an "online consultation service" which I can only imagine the elderly and those without internet access are going to cherish. Nobody wants to be ill, and nobody has a choice over when they are ill, so why make it such a painful process to meet with a healthcare professional when you are? In this regard, Salisbury Medical Practice excel. Would have given zero stars, etc. etc.

The place is an absolute joke. Takes 1 hour to get on the phone with them, 2 hours later you get a phone call from a doctor who gives you diagnosis over the phone (they probably have crystal ball). If you have any questions they tell you that they are busy and need to move on to next patient. This is a call center but not a surgery! They treat you like a vegetable rather than human being.

Had to wait a while to get to speak to someone on the phone but when I did she was very patient listened to my concerns and assisted in getting me the appointment that was most appropriate for my needs. When I met with the Dr they were attentive patient and explained my options for care to me very carefully. I felt that I was treated as a valuable individual and that my specific needs as a patient were met in this very busy time for the NHS and GP’s. An amazing surgery that I am grateful to be a patient with.

I have been treated by this surgery for the past 12 years. The Doctors, Nurses, Receptionists and Administrative staff have provided me with an amazing service with all manner of medical issues. Previous to and throughout the period of the covid epidemic and since, it is obvious to anyone that they work under extreme conditions and with heavy demands. It is not always possible to get appointments as quickly as one would wish for, but I have always found that the receptionists have been helpful, patient and kind. It is easy to forget that the job must be extremely stressful trying to accomodate the needs of people who are distressed by illness etc. A big thank you.
