The almost austere exterior is matched by the plain interior...but with that simplicity comes a wonderful sense of tranquility and peace. If you get a chance to go into the ringing chamber or to the tower top on an open day then seize the opportunity....you won't be disappointed.

Having seen the brick bell tower from the road on the way to work for years, I had promised myself a quick look. Built by Lord Petre in the 18th century, the main body of the church , with deep overhanging eaves and repeated use of large round leaded windows has faint echoes of Inigo Jones' church in Covent Garden and some of the plainer Wren churches. The church was locked but well worth the visit.
