Lovely little Parish Church. Rich in History and Monuments. Church and parish over the years has been attached to The Altham,' Arkwright', Burgoyne's and the Lushington's to name a few. The Church dates from the 12th Century and has many features of interest. The church comprises of a nave (12th century rebuilt in the later 16th century), Chancel (12th century, repaired in 1888), North chapel (built 1466), West tower (built 1234 rebuilt in the later 16th century, extensively repaired in 1873 and restored in 1977), Unused south porch (built 15th-century, disused during the 19th century), North vestry (1971). The walls are of flint rubble and brick and are partly faced with cement. The interior of the church was restored shortly before 1848. The church was damaged by a rocket bomb in 1945. Repairs during the 1950s revealed architectural features previously hidden. Further damage was caused by a fire in 1964, but the church was completely restored in 1965. This restoration of 1965 was designed by Laurence King.

If your getting married here I would seriously reconsider! I am a photographer and I was told to stand to one side rudely through a ceremony I did absolutely shocking attitude from the vicar! I’ve done 100s of weddings and never been spoke to like that let alone in the middle of a ceremony for everyone to hear. I am more concerned now because my bride won’t have the best possible photos of her wedding ceremony due to the vicar loads of missed beautiful moment because of her! In no way would I of been distracting the service or causing a inconvenience to the vicar at any given moment! I am professional and respectful during the ceremony something that I think she needs to be! I won’t be taking bookings from this church again!
