Somehow Sainsbury's have missed out here. A few years ago they fought a hard battle for planning permission to build a supermarket in the village. I and many hundreds of locals voted for it...but Sainsbury's pulled out of the deal. They then build this petrol station with attached shop, but it is constantly out of stock? They sell milk and bread...but not butter or cheese? They sell 1.75ltr of fizzy cola for £1.35, but it is constantly out of stock...so you have to buy standard bottles at £1.25!!! You can't buy a ready meal, sliced ham, tins of beans or peas, eggs or bacon, or anything that makes a quick meal. All too expensive, all too predictable and all too mundane. Come on Sainsbury's...utilise the shop, we voted for you to give our village some choice...you could at least give us somewhere to buy something... other than crisps, sweets and energy drinks. UPDATE: Although I was pretty seething in my review above, I must praise the staff, who are very friendly and welcoming UPDATE II: Visited here last night, the shop had no bread, no meat snacks, no tinned vegetables. I bought 5 items. Total cost £16.00!!! There seems little point in using this place except in an emergency. But what's worse is the fact that in their store ...300m away...the same 5 articles would have cost me £12.86. Avoid this shop.

All the staff here have done superbly well in the recent fuel problems. Properly manned tills, efficient and someone giving directions to often flustered motorists. Great job and well done.
