I have been with Saffron Building Society for many years, I have always found them to provide a very personal, professional, helpful and first class service, most recently with advice over the phone today. They have some very competitive rates, most recently mentioned by Martin Lewis on his programme earlier in the week. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend them.

This building society does not even deserve one star. It wasted 3 months of me trying to get a mortgage. Pre- Approved and ask for every detail. I provided every detail and still the week after they would ask for something else. They did 2 hard searches on my account which affected my credit score and dropped then after 3 1/2 months of struggle once we set the contract exchange date, they decide to reject our mortgage! Totally racist and I’ve heard the same from other people. Judging people by their surnames. Total waste of time.
