I haven’t heard of Saathi House until I started attending an Migrant Voice project Feel Like Home(!) in 2019. People around SH started introducing SH to me. Only then I came to know about it’s long presence in the community. This small building started amazing me with it’s big impact in the society. I met a few politicians like Angela Rayners and other important community people in here. So, it has a little influence, too. It's playing an important role to promote migrant communities in the mainstream, and empowering them. So proud of SH.

When l first attended Saathi house l was on a mission to regain my self confidence in social circles but after just one visit I saw myself gaining way more than that. I very quickly found myself feeling at home in the place and with everyone I met there each time I was there. It became a home from home for me where race, colour, gender, creed or status posed no barriers, infact barriers were broken here. I cant wait for it to reopen and I am excited to see the new look after the renovations that are being done there.

My first time visiting SaathiHouse in Aston Birmingham was a bit daunting as I didn't know what to expect. Everyone who works there are very warm and welcoming. After my first visit I could not wait for Tuesdays to go there and meet up with new friend I have made at the Newsroom and Media Lab. Can't wait for this pandemic to over to start going to SaathiHouse again.
