Food & drinks: Breakfast brunch very poor, meant to come with chips, didn't arrive and had be requested. NO APOLOGIES from anyone, staff who couldn't care much at all. Ok very cooked and dry bacon, poached eggs that were so hard they reassembled hard boiled eggs. Sausages okay, no toast with it. Came with a shot glass of maltesers! WHY!!! Overpriced and wouldn't go back.

Came in on bank holiday Sunday, the place wasn't particularly busy, however most of tables were covered with dirt and used glasses and food from customers before. Tried to scan the bar and restaurant for staff to be seated or to get menus, however there was only one gentleman serving on the bar throughout the entire place. Picked up some menus and decided what we wanted to eat (expensive, costing on between £15-£20 for a main meal) placed our order with the barman for him to hand us our cutlery there and then at the bar and make our own way to our dirty table. The poor guy was rushed off his feet with another 6 customers to serve after us. We waited around 45 minutes for our food to come out before asking where our food was. The only gentleman working apologised and assured us the food would be out shortly. Just short of an hour and our food arrived, again been served by the same bar man. Both dishes of food were 1/10 in taste and quite frankly laughable in presentation and portion size. Almost £40 for 2 main courses and 2 lime cordials and soda. I understand places are struggling to staff right now, however if you only have one member of staff to run a hotel check in desk, bar, front of house and waiting tables I feel you need to revisit the services you are offering as it's unfair on both staff and customers in this situation. It's also worth noting this is a cashless business, most likely to save on costs of hiring an adequate amount of staff members to count cash and cash up at the end of the night. All round experience was terrible, I do not recommend.

A very good visit even as we were there for a sad occasion, a funeral. The food served was very good, the venue very nice and it had been greatly improved since my previous visit. Luckily, there was not much competition for car parking, something that the hotel couldn't do much about though there is lots of pay for parking in the town's market place at the front.

Food was great, the lady waitress was lovely, very conversational, friendly and had some great recommendations for the food. Very knowledgeable about the menu. However the male behind the bar was not very pleasant, I felt more of an inconvenience than a customer and I had no special requirement, I just presumed he didn’t want to be there, on two occasions I felt as though I was an inconvenience to him. Exception of that, the friendly waitress and the food was excellent 👌

The food and the bedrooms were first class, but don't go here for a conference. Staff walked through the conference room carrying dustbins, the windows in the conference room did not open so it was very stuffy, and the tea and coffee we ordered came an hour late.
