Lovely French style bistro. Courtyard & inside seating too. Great menu with a la carte & special offer menu. The red house wine was excellent too. Food was hot & tasty & the portions were generous. The staff were lovely too. Very good value.

Our first visit but our relatives have been before. Just off the market square in Richmond (North Yorkshire). We were seated in the covered courtyard, and it was busy for the time we were there. Decorated with lots of French posters,paintings, etc, quirky but nice. Good menu choices and wine list. The garlic mushrooms were a popular choice, and I had cooked brie in bread crumb coating and small side salad, very nice. Main choices were chicken in white wine, beef bourguignion, and I had homemade salmon fishcakes with side salad and French fries. The fish cakes were delicious but a little dry by the 2nd one ( as I didn't eat the tartare sauce which came with them). Food was well cooked and good portion sizes (not too much). Tea and coffee followed.

We were recommended this restaurant by our B&B, and it was brilliant. We were on a 9 day walking trip and yearned for non-pub food - we were not disappointed. Really nice food, good choice of wines and excellent service by the whole team.

Service is great, primitivo lovely and great price, garlic mushrooms delicious, fish pie very nice and rich ( could do with more potato topping) beef bourgignon tasty but very thin sauce and beef was plentiful but dry. Overall, lovely place with a nice atmosphere. Would definitely go again if we're in the area!
