I chose Russell's Hall Hospital to have my first baby. Both myself and my partner have nothing but compliments and praise for the staff and the experience we had from start to finish. Without giving too many personal details away in the public domain, we would like to thank the two midwives who assisted us to the maternity unit and fetched a wheelchair, the nurses and doctors who assisted from start to finish with my labour and delivery, the aftercare provided by the doctors, midwives, nurses, support workers and students. A massive thankyou to the cooks as the hospital food was amazing for the time I was in there! I've never eaten so much šŸ˜ The wonderful staff who filled my water jug up and brought round regular drinks and not forgetting the cleaners who kept the ward clean. All of you were amazing. On the whole the experience was really positive; obviously there were some interactions which needed improving and a few small issues -however when brought to staff attention they were dealt with- but overall the care I received from the majority was outstanding - and I felt like the staff genuinely cared about me and my baby which was lovely, as a first time mom I was very anxious. I shall be delivering a thankyou card as the maternity ward at Russell's Hall is amazing x

Not a single complaint. My midwife Karen delivered my second baby boy and she was absolutely wonderful, made me feel at ease throughout even though my labour was tricky - truly brilliant midwife. My care from everyone was amazing. From midwives to doctors and everyone in-between. Thank you so much.

Just awful experience, with leaking waterā€™s for 3days was walking around hospital trying to make labour faster because they didnā€™t induce meā€¦. Walked around for another 48hā€¦. Was asking for paracetamol for 6h and nobody give it, then said many times that I want epidural, soā€¦ after 48 when they found time for meā€¦ they induced meā€¦ I was already not understanding anything because at that point was awake for 50h and still no epidural, they asked my agreement on something but I didnā€™t even understand anything so no ideas what I agreed onā€¦. Having 2doctors and 3 nurses in room I was in such pain that I was trying to run away in extreme pain ( still no epidural) I even asked for knife because I couldnā€™t take It anymore and said that I will cut baby out myselfā€¦. Nurse was trying to brake waters but couldnā€™t tthen somebody else did itā€¦. They cut my babyā€™s head like 7 times when braking watersā€¦ that all continued for 5h and then when finally I was pushing, they said sorry now itā€™s too late for epidural, even though they knew for at least 8h that I want epidural, when baby was born I was in such state that I couldnā€™t hold her because didnā€™t understand anythingā€¦ after some time ( no ideas how long) they walked out and my fiancĆ© took baby but I went to hide in bathroomā€¦ 7 months for my baby but still Iā€™m so traumatisedā€¦ canā€™t see myself giving life to anymore children because of this! Only thing that Iā€™m grateful is that my baby girl is alive and healthy, thatā€™s why I can give 1starā€¦.
