A lovely little spot. Easy to imagine the event that happened here. Nice to walk around and see any ponies that might be wandering. A little car park on the opposite side of the road and the singer itself is right by the road.

Interesting historic place in the New Forest. Not a huge monument but it’s definitely worth a visit if you drive pass.

If you love history this is a must visit for you. It marks the spot when King William ll (nickname Rufus) son of William the conqueror was shot by an arrow after hunting for deer in the New Forest. Apparently bounced of an oak tree & instantly killed him. Shot by the Frenchman Sir Walter Tyrrell in 1100A.D. A local charcoal burner named Purkis loaded the corpse onto his cart and carried it to Winchester Cathedral, where a somewhat low-key burial was performed.
