Amazing location. Many restaurants in the area and a daily street food market. Just a 3 minutes walk from Waterloo Station and 10 minutes from London Eye, very convenient to visit London. The hotel staff is nice. The room is clean but very small. It's built accordingly to "lean luxury" standards meaning you won't find amenities inside the room such as a kettle, coffe and tea or an iron board (those are located outside in a specific area opposites the lifts) The toilet and shower are just a glass cubicle inside the room and the bathroom sink is separated. There isn't much space for clothes, luggage and personal items especially if it's 2 guest staying in the room. They should invest in some proper blinds/shutters. The blackouts curtains let a lot of light in since they are not perfectly fitted on the top and the sides. I had a very bad night sleep. During the night the light from public illumination comes in and, as soon as the sun rises (very early in spring/summer) the light is so bright that awakes you. There's definitely room for improvement.

Disappointing is how I would summarise our stay at the Ruby Lucy in February and definitely not worthy of the cost - even taking the London premium into account. I booked a Loft Room as apparently they were more spacious and had views of the City. Whilst the room was clean, the layout was somewhat confusing. The bed was squeezed into what can only be described as an alcove, with only 1 side of the bed having access to the rest of the very small room, which meant one of us had to move in order to let the other out...not something you expect for the price paid. Then we have the bathroom. The shower cubicle was glass walls, admittedly with a curtain on the outside for a little privacy however it was more voyeuristic than functional. To access the shower you had to first go into the toilet cubicle. The door to the shower opened outwards so when exiting, the towel put down outside the shower door was pushed away and water ran out into the toilet cubicle. Definitely style over functionality. The view from the balcony...you could see the Gherkin etc but not as expected. I was surprised to learn that tea and coffee making facilities were communal, located by the lifts, as were the iron and ironing board...again not something I would expect for the price paid in a 'luxury' hotel. Had I have realised this, I definitely would not have booked this hotel. Similarly with the breakfast...did not realise there was no cooked breakfast options. The breads and cheeses on offer were nice, but disappointing when you're craving a cooked breakfast. It was also pointless completing the registration form prior to arrival as had to detail most of the information again on the reception touch screens. Staff were friendly although I was confused when asked if I wanted tea or coffee when going for breakfast, only to be directed to the self serve machines after indicating I'd like coffee!? As mentioned, room was small. Style of functionality and lack of facilities within the room itself was a real disappointment. Location is great, located right next to Leak Street Tunnel and a Pizza Restaurant down the road which was the best pizza ever tasted. Food & drinks: Pizza Pilgrims just down the road is amazing and worth the trip to Waterloo by itself

Really lovely modern relaxed hotel, beds and pillows sooo comfy, lovely waterfall shower and products. Good for couples. The rooms are soundproofed as well so you can have your tunes up without worrying. Really friendly staff. I much preferred getting coffee in the hallway rather than kettles etc in the room. Amazing location too, 3 minutes walk from Waterloo. Definitely recommend
