FAQ

What is the adoption process for animals at your shelter?

At RSPCA Sussex West Branch, our adoption process involves filling out an application form, meeting the animal in person, and undergoing a home check. Once approved, we ask for an adoption fee and the new owner can take their new pet home.

Are there any adoption fees, and if so, what do they include?

Yes, there are adoption fees which vary depending on the animal. Fees include vaccinations, microchipping, and neutering/spaying (if necessary). These fees help us cover the costs of caring for animals in our shelter.

How do you ensure the health and well-being of animals in your care?

We have a dedicated team of staff and volunteers who provide daily care, exercise, and socialization for the animals in our shelter. We also have a veterinarian who regularly visits the shelter and provides medical care for the animals. We ensure that our animals receive proper nutrition, plenty of exercise and attention, and any necessary medical treatment.

Do you provide any training or support for new pet owners?

Yes, we offer advice and support to new pet owners to ensure they have the necessary knowledge and resources to care for their new pet. We also provide information on local training classes and behaviourists. Additionally, we offer post-adoption support to help new owners with any issues that may arise.

How can I support your shelter through donations or volunteering?

We greatly appreciate any support we receive from the community. Donations can be made through our website, and we also accept donations of food, toys, and other supplies. We have a dedicated team of volunteers who help with a range of tasks, including walking dogs and socializing cats. Interested individuals can fill out an application on our website or contact us for more information.

Went with my dad to donate some toys as he had previously got a dog from them. We was greeted by a very happy and beautiful staff called Woody. The staff are very polite and welcoming. Refreshing to see such genuine love and care towards the animals.

Noddy Skills puppy classes were brilliant, the group was small and calm, and we all felt like we were getting one-to-one attention from Sarah, who showed us how to engage and train our puppies with kindness and consistency. Myself and Rizzo learned so much, and our bond is stronger than ever. Thoroughly recommend
