Fantastic reserve with a great new cafe (excellent coffee and food) and visitor centre. Great info board with a map showing recent sightings and some very helpful and knowledgeable staff (Jack in particular). An easy walk around, being flat, and a varied and varying amount of species, with a good few rarities showing up all year thanks to its location. Be aware the road to it is long and narrow, do go slowly and carefully and your reward will be a great day.

Excellent RSPB reserve situated just south of the town of Boston, Lincolnshire and also near The Wash. There are a variety of trails at the site where you can see the wonderful picturesque pools that is teeming with wading birds and you can see Avocets and Oystercatchers amongst others at close quarters from the many hides. The walks themselves are easy going and you can marvel at spectacular and wonderful views across the pools. You can extra mile or so to The Wash where you can one of the best wading bird hot spots in Europe. There is a visitor centre where the staff on site are very helpful giving you a trail guide and pointing out to you the latest bird sightings. There is a cafe selling an array of refreshments at reasonable prices. Overall this is a great nature reserve to visit and a great one to marvel at wading birds.

All I can say is I’m not a bird watcher We parked up in the car park and I was quite prepared to pay the £3 charge to park as we were only going to walk the PUBLIC Footpaths around the site Upon setting off we felt pressure from one of the receptionists to join the RSPB we refused but said we would pay for the parking which we did only on checking we were charged £6 as there were 2 of us The last straw was 2 standard size cans is cola was £4.50 We felt ripped off just to walk public footpaths We definitely wouldn’t not go back we will leave the place to the twitchers
