Great brekkie in the boathouse and a nice walk around the marina and down along the canal... worth a visit.

Stayed in one of the lodges for a couple of days, firstly the positives; The location is great for getting to London on the train only 10mins walk to the station. There is a lovely Indian on site which is well worth a visit. There is a pretty marina and it's also next to the canal. There is also a handy but very basic bar/restaurant albeit rather unkempt but a nice view. Some of the staff were friendly but there were others that were 'jobsworths' and rather surly. This has been mentioned in many other reviews and really needs addressing by management. Sadly there were so many negatives, firstly the lodges are really tired, almost the entire desking had blistering paint with rotting timber in parts. The room was also the same with chipped and flaking paint throughout and had a stale musty aroma. The rooms are on a par with what you'd find at a basic Butlins chalet, with cheap interiors and low rent vinyl flooring in the bathrooms. The hot tubs have no privacy and are overlooked. The check in is very late at 4pm and check out is at 10am sharp which really limits use if you're only staying for 1 or 2 nights. The internet is utterly unusable and you'll struggle to get a 4g signal so that was very frustrating. Finally both evenings we were disturbed by loud music late into the evening from other lodges & a loud motorbike revving. This place has great potential but at its price point it really needs to up it's game. It certainly doesn't justify the prices charged, I would suggest it either reprices as a budget stay or the lodges need a long overdue overhaul.

Has the potential to be absolutely lovely but unfortunately our trip was cursed with a sequence of disappointment. Firstly, the rooms were dirty. Cobwebs everywhere, stains on the bedding and towels (even after having the room refreshed) and crumbs on the carpet. The cafe was closed due to a staff shortage which is understandable but it was impossible to get any food delivered due to distance. When staff informed us the cafe was closed they were a little rude and condescending.
