Most Unwelcoming I must admit that I wasn't in the best mood yesterday, having, at the age of 82, to drive for 2 hours to get to the hospital, including driving 5 times round Guildford because the hospital was not adequately signposted and the having to take ages to find a parking place. I was seen fairly quickly by someone who, rather unwillingly weighed me and then by someone who was only interested in assuring me that I should have the radiotherapy. I was then left in a small room, on my own, for over an hour! The reception staff (who clearly didn't enjoy their job) could easily see me but did nothing to tell me how long I would have to wait and so I eventually got up and told them I was fed up waiting so long with no explanation and I stood with my elbows on the counter which had the effect of someone arriving within 5 minutes! I then saw 2 rather surly people and eventually a very nice nurse (Alice Hill) at 12:55 who realised that I should have had a dental x-ray and the dentist finished at 1 pm! Fortunately she just managed to get me there in time! I really don't see why I was asked to travel so far, when this could all have been done via a video link and at local hospitals and dentists! What a difference between this hospital and East Surrey Hospital where I had surgery from Mr Fang. I cannot praise them highly enough, right from reception staff, who told you which room you would be in and how many people were before you, (usually only 1) to the nurses who cared for me and to Mr Fang and his excellent team who looked after me so well and explained everything so well to me, giving me plenty of time to ask questions. I just wish I could have my radiotherapy there but I seems to be centralised these days. I may try to get transferred to Brighton which is much nearer and I could even stay with my daughter who lives there.

Staff were so friendly, good system they have going for emergency department. Got seen and discharge in 4 hours, and had multiple visits with various people throughout that time. Including blood test and results. They have a great cafe smack bang next door and free water machine. Plus a violinist in the cafe to keep people entertained which was very nice. Clean hospital with professional and friendly staff. Thank you for your help

Once again the RSCH has treated me with dignity and respect. 24 hours in and out of A and E. Every Doctor , nurse, porter and care assistant I saw was exemplary. And every interaction I saw between them and other patients was the same. Thankyou for taking care of me and my family for the last 35 years. Same for all the Police officers I saw waiting with vulnerable adults who they were called to protect. The way the government has under paid and under valued all NHS, Police and other essential staff aswell as their institutions over the last 10 years is disgusting. One things for sure: we can all do something about it!

Very good experience my wife had to go in last night in agony with spasms in her back. Seen very quickly for assessment bloody. Sadly long delay in getting on top of pain. Very busy. When a Dr came on shift this morning totally different experience. They all did the best they could and found out today they had one sick and another looking after their kids due to teachers strike. They all earn their money pay them properly. Thank you for you great efforts today and last night. I know we pay taxes but to know you’ll be looked after when your in trouble is priceless . Thank you Guy and Stella Millar👍

My whole experience with the ophthalmology team was wonderful. Such a caring, compassionate and humorous team of individuals who are interested in their patients' well being both for the immediate medical issue in question, but as a whole. ("Went for an eye examination, came away with counselling"). This is my second personal experience with this hospital, and both have been overwhelmingly positive. I'm surprised by the overall review score.

Amazing experience for my daughter having a tonsillectomy. The doctors, nurses and staff were all incredible, kind and compassionate. I wish we lived closer to the hospital!

Experience 1: The nurse, Mrs Hutt, made jokes about my physical appearance. Experience 2: The children's ward were not supportive or empathetic following a suicide attempt.

Covid seems to affect answering telephone enquiries. Appalling waiting times on hold only to have calls terminated. Departments unable to respond to calls due to COVID?? Too much reliance on IT.
