FAQ

What services do you offer for women's health?

We offer a range of services for women's health including routine gynecological exams, prenatal care, birth control options, and treatment for various gynecological conditions.

Can you walk me through the process of a routine gynecological exam?

During a routine gynecological exam, we will discuss your medical history and any concerns you may have. We will then perform a physical exam which includes a breast exam, pelvic exam, and pap smear. If necessary, we may also perform other tests such as STI screening or ultrasound.

What forms of birth control do you provide and what are their side effects?

We provide a range of birth control options including hormonal methods such as the pill, patch, and implant, as well as non-hormonal methods such as condoms and IUDs. Each method has its own potential side effects, which we will discuss with you during your appointment.

What is your approach to prenatal care?

Our approach to prenatal care is to provide comprehensive and personalized care throughout your pregnancy. We will monitor your health and the health of your developing baby, provide education and support, and help you prepare for labor and delivery.

Can you explain your approach to patient care and communication?

We believe in providing patient-centered care, which means that we prioritize your individual needs and preferences in all aspects of your care. We also believe in open and transparent communication, and we will work with you to ensure that you understand your diagnosis, treatment options, and any potential risks or side effects.

The female gynaecologist hadn't bothered to read my case reports and history. She wrote down several erroneous things that I was quick to spot and made her correct them. I had to leave the appointment when she told me that "Only a few years more and you will be going through the menapause, and that should sort everything out". I have no confidence in this service provider or the particular doctor that saw me.

This department saved my life literally, i had major surgery for a full hysterectomy as i had borderline ovarian cancer. The after care on the ward was great, one or 2 nurses were clearly in the wrong job but on the whole they were good. Food was awful and I literally didn't eat a thing for 7 days. They discharged me early because they needed the bed, they changed the discharge rules to get me out, even though I could hardly walk. As soon as I got home I had to call out the emergency doctor, he couldn't believe they had sent me home. But im alive and doing well because of the surgery and I will always be eternally grateful.

Recently, I had the honour of having a major operation on this ward. The nursing care pre/post operation well was appalling no attention to maintaining personal hygiene. All medication at all different times no consistency in medication if you have underlying medical condition so much so that I would never go back to Royal Preston Hospital no explanation as to your care Knowing now what I know now, general nursing in the 21st century is non existent, it is all computer lead, I am a human being not a robot!

After a horrendous experience with a coil fitting at a clinic in Preston, I was referred to RPH Gynae to have one fitted. The ladies there - Katie, Cheryl and Danielle were incredible. They were very understanding and sympathetic as to why I was so nervous after my previous experience. Their bedside manner was second to none and made me feel so much more at ease. The procedure was carried out quickly with very little discomfort and no drama whatsoever! I am extremely grateful to all of them, thank you!

The best of what the NHS is, the staff are run in to the ground and paid peanuts when these people deal with the worst injury's that you could imagine & if you ask me the staff are friendly and work miracle's. The Doctors there aren't no standard doctors will of ever seen before, the doctors who save really did pull of a miracle saving it but I've seen doctors from all over since who haven't ever seen anything like it and hats off to plastics & orthopaedics. I had a really bad open compound fracture to my ancal and today apart from pain I walk normal when it was talked about amputation then walk with a limp hobbling around just the pain THANKS RPH WARD 4 & ORHOPAEDIC WARD NIRSES DOCTORS EVERYONE WHO MAKES IT HAPPEN THERE - HIGHLY RECOMMEND BUT NO MOST PEOPLE WHO ENDED IN THERE ARE SERIOUSLY IN TROUBLE BUT BEST IVE EVER BEEN AN I HAVE BEEN A FEW
