What is there to not like? All staff are so caring and dedicated in their roles and positions, you know that if you are a patient here that you are in the caring and capable hands of some of the world's most renowned Cardiac Consultants whose sole aim is you. You are not just another hospital patient, you are their patient and the care and support from all the staff is fantastic, all have a positive attitude and you can talk to them not just as a patient but as a friend too. I have been a patient at the old and new RPH for over 9yrs as were both my parents. I was a patient at RPH on 3 South West Ward in 2022 for heart treatment and I was so well looked after by all the staff. My designated Nurses and Deputy Sisters were nothing short of astounding. They were there for me when I was feeling low, they talked to me and took the time to listen as well, they allayed my fears and doubts but all without faltering in their attention and care towards me. Nothing was too much trouble for them, they were all wonderful, friendly and professional. Although the staff may well have forgotten me already purely on the fact that they see so many people in a week/month, I will never forget them. So many times you hear the phrase "I don't want to see you again" which is said in a meaningful way because of the setting but I would like to see all the staff again but in different circumstances, out shopping, walking etc. I must also mention the catering. A fantastic menu, quality food, fresh ingredients and huge choice, just brilliant and served up by friendly catering staff. I also have regular email and telephone contact with my Consultant and his Secretary and if I have any issues or concerns, I can be in touch with them. They are all so good and it is very reassuring to know that they are there. Also reassuring to know that with all the strikes going on in the UK and at many hospitals, RPH included, that the level of care has not been compromised or diminished in any way and that you, as a patient, are still as important now as you were before. Royal Papworth Hospital, my heroes.
