We were turned away at 12pm because “no children under 12 allowed” despite the fact our infant was sleeping and we were the only customers in. I’d understand the rule in the evening to create grown up atmosphere, but seemed a particularly jobsworth attitude at lunchtime that relished turning away custom. Obviously there are a number of more accommodating (and FAR better) pubs in Whitstable.

Unfortunately we didn't get inside the pub as there was a lock in already at 10pm on a Friday night. The land lady abruptly told us to read the sign and "buh bye" whilst smirking. She has just lost out on four local families who will never attempt to return.
