Review: I, Inspire Picture the scene: it was the early evening after my first day back from the Easter break and I attended an event held at Prince Philip House, London. I sat down to listen to the panel discussion entitled 'Innovation Incoming: An Expert Panel On Technology And The Future'. The panellists consisted of the Chair Kate Prescott, The Times, Technology Business Editor; Professor Daniele Faccio FRSE, A Royal Academy of Engineering Chair in Emerging Technologies and Professor of Quantum Technologies, University of Glasgow; Professor Cathy Craig, Founder/CEO lncisiv; Dr Simon Thomas FREng, Chief Executive Officer, Paragraf. The discussion was focused on exploring how the brain controlled movements that remained problematic in the development of the human body seizing up. Most medical problems were made up of quantum mechanics and psychics. In terms of pace in quantum technologies were going to be innovative in driving the industry to think of new methods to solve problems that have not even occurred yet. 'Silicon is in everything and in everyday objects ranging from mobile phones to fridges' Dr. Thomas explained. 'It is a light based technology.' as Professor Faccio exclaimed. The main application came from using this type of laser to treat cancer, which has helped to increase the life expectancy of anyone living with most autoimmune illnesses. It was a direct example of #MedTech being the future for health and medicine in terms of progressive developments. Each stakeholder wants to make a difference in healthcare using light based technology because of the sensor used work to focus the brain. Take the case study of heart health being pioneered by the use of Artificial Intelligence to detect any defects which makes the statoscope redundant in its abilities to listening to the heart beat. The process of measurement was not compromised by heart health technology. The advent of heart health technology will be available in the next five years due to the testing/clinical trials. After thinking about these advancements in science made me agree with sentiment expressed for AI and other forms of scientific technologies to be used for positive progressive gains instead of its uses being shunned as something that must be feared. Most importantly the discipline of Engineering must be demystified to encourage more individuals to take an interest in how the objects they have are made and the future generations should take grasp any opportunities they can to get involved in #engineering especially events supported by @RoyalAcademyOfEngineering. The reciprocal futuristic wish shared by both attendees and panellists was spoken by Professor Craig when she expressed: 'Swan Initiative to see women in STEM positions. Therefore the increase would come from female participation and visibility.'

A magnificent building modernised well laid out interior as you would expect from the Academy of Engineers ... pity no sound engineers were involved, poor acustics, and pretty awful quality speaker amplification
