The best meat I've ever tasted, the lamb especially , the mutton in a slow cooked stew is to die for, the pigs liver melts in the mouth, with almost no gristle or tubes. Sausages are amazing. Gavin the butcher is an expert at removing fat and gristle, his Barnsley chops are amazing , and the pork makes amazing crackling. We never buy from supermarkets now, just here.

Disrespectful and unwelcoming experience. Baby cute goats drinking out of brown water. A farm that has a butchers. Girls in small shorts shouting monkey sounds in a loud microphone in middle of farm. So much nature, and this is how it’s run… no professionalism. Might as well advertise “not all welcome, tread carefully”. Never coming back.

I took my 8 y.o. daughter over the weekend and she loved it and has already asked to visit again. The farm allows you to get up close and hands-on with piglets, chickens, goats, guinea pigs, sheep and many more. They have set 'meet the animals' and 'feed the animals' times - we got to cuddle a guinea pig and feed baby goats! Alongside this, they have a large, reasonably priced cafe and an indoor softplay area. The farm truly is a hidden gem, I was surprised that the place wasn't busier with the amount of activities and attractions there!

I visited Roves Farm completely by accident looking for Nightingale Woods. I was really excited to find it had a Farm Shop and Cafe. I was hungry and looking for a breakfast before a Dog walk. The staff were really friendly. The dining area looked great and my expectations were high, given it was a Farm Shop I was expecting fresh cooked locally sourced produce of the higest standards. I was a little too late for breakfast so settled for a sausage sandwich, cake and coffee. On arrival the sandwich didn't have the Wow factor of Fresh Cooked high quality I was expecting. The sausage was pre cooked, warmed up and not the best quality, the cake was not fresh either. I rarely post reviews but given the difficult times I thought some helpful critique might help you guys. You have access to the best produce, you have a huge kitchen, you had kitchen staff everywhere how do you justify a pre cooked warmed up sausage sandwich? You have a huge oppertunity to pack your establishment with diners but the empty seats should have given me a clue. Come on guys, you surly can't be satisfied serving food like that, I was expecting great things but got some thing quite different. It put me off visting the farm shop because of the taste of the produce, had it been as expected and as the sign above the servers mentions (Fresh) I might have spent money in the farm shop. I mentioned it to a lovely lady at the front office to feed it back, it was mentioned it might be a time thing, sorry that dosnt wash with me, I was practically the only one eating. I had a lovely walk though, please do take this as critique your missing a huge oppertunity to showcase everything you are, you missed the target with me, sorry.
