After dragging my reluctant husband along to a taster session with Steph, my suddenly enthusiastic husband insisted we sign up for a private course and it’s the best decision we’ve made. There is so much ‘stuff’ you can buy when expecting, but the best money we’ve spent is becoming fully informed and empowered regarding birth and the choices we have. I had naively assumed there would be NHS antenatal classes and support, but without Steph I feel we would have been completely on our own. Steph’s course is based on fact and her many years of experience, which then allows you to decide what’s right for you personally, there are no hippy-dippy opinions, instead all birth choices are valid from elective c-section to home water birth and everything in between. I’m glad we signed up for her private 1 to 1 course as with erratic work commitments it suited us far better and enabled us to ask questions that we may have felt self-conscious asking in front of others. And when you compare it to the cost of a new pram or raising a child in general, it really is a bargain! I’m now 38 weeks pregnant and confidently looking forward to the birth, which is a very different to how I was feeling at that first taster session many months ago. I whole-heartedly recommend Steph at Birthnerd and can promise you it will be the best money you spend.

We couldn’t recommend the BirthNerd enough. One private session with Steph went a long way to building our confidence in what is to come. Steph was completely open, friendly, professional and informative. She took us through the whole labour process at a slow pace and in good detail. She answered all and any questions we had, provided caveats and gave ground truths from her own experience as a mother and a midwife, she left us feeling prepared and supported. Struggling to find an Antenatal class that really matched our mindset and fitted into our busy work schedules, Steph came highly recommended. We wanted to find someone who could guide us through the third trimester, birthing options and clarify how we could really utilise hypnobirthing as we wanted. After Steph’s session we felt reassured and empowered, with lots of resources to read into as apart of our preparations. Being my 3rd pregnancy you’d think I’d have nailed birth prep. Not the case, and this time, having heard such wonderful things about Hypnobirthing, I was keen to make the most of my opportunity to enhance my very last labour experience. Boy am I glad I did. I called and introduced myself to Steph during lockdown, and I immediately felt at ease. I mean, literally her voice had me meditating and dreamy... And I knew ‘this girl knew her stuff’. I have enjoyed every single session together, and have learnt so much. I can’t speak highly enough about Steph’s style, the informative contest of her sessions and general support she offers.
