From day 1 James’ knowledge shone through. I worked remotely with James on zoom once a week and worked on one of his session plans during the rest of the week. James also helped me with a diet/macro plan that was more than manageable and sustainable. The training plan is tailored to your requirements and goals and each exercise has a demo video attached to help me hit correct form. Every week I felt stronger as James helped me to make continuous improvement with my press-ups and core strength. I could message him anytime and he was always prompt to get back to me! I'd had some group & 1-2-1 sessions with James from RPT a few years ago and had a very positive experience with those, so when I got a couple of months out from my wedding date, I got back in touch. James set me up with Will, who ran an an 8-week online training course for me; tracking nutrition and completing 4 workouts per week. We'd set out a provisional goal of losing 5kg before final suit fitting. We had weekly check-ins, changing out exercises which didn't work for me, emphasising those that did and keeping the program on track. At the end of the 8 weeks and a week before the suit fitting, I'm 6kg down and very happy with my experience. So much so, I've just signed up for another 8 week program to see me through the big day and picking up again after the honeymoon.

I had an amazing consultation PT session with Will from Ronan Personal Training. He was super nice, knowledgeable, and great to work with on achieving my fitness goals. The two best things about our session were the way Will pointed out where I can improve on technique and weak points in my strength (things which I’d specifically asked for help with) and also the fact that his firm but friendly encouragement helped me put in maximum effort to a great workout. I felt exhausted but so good afterwards! I have also done a couple of remote HIIT and boxing classes with Will and James. These are well structured and great for getting in a tough but short home workout. I’d definitely recommend Ronan Personal Training to all my friends!

I've been training regularly with James (Ronan) for the last 6 years. I had been in sedentary office work for years and in my early 50s I was getting increasingly stiff in the hips and knees and wanted to do strength training to overcome these issues. Personal training has really worked well for me, making me feel much stronger and fitter overall for the other activities that I enjoy such as skiing and hiking. James is friendly, professional and knows how to help you find and keep your motivation. He's also extremely good at remedial work if you pick up any injuries (mine typically occur doing other activities). I used to train 1:1 with him 2 x week as did my husband but about 18 months ago, we decided to try training together 3 x week and it's worked brilliantly. Normally we train together at the gym but since lockdown, James has been training us remotely via FaceTime and that's also worked really well. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend James as a personal trainer to anyone. Whatever your age or your goals, he will give you great guidance and support.
