(Translated by Google) Unfortunately, you can only see a very small part of the former Roman theater through the dirty reflecting panes of the small, inconspicuous house. A truly sad and desolate performance for England's largest Roman theater. If you look at all the pictures you have seen just as much. The D-shaped Roman theater was west of and adjacent to the Temple of Claudius, facing north down the slope to the river. It was built of septaria and brick and seated over 3,000. It was about 70m by 37m tall.

Small but significant, an excavation under the floor of a 19th c 2 up 2 down terrace house reveals an ancient theatre foundations, set into the hill, which prominent s the landscape.
