  Avoid, avoid, avoid. Our experience with this company and the customer service received has been appalling. I do not understand how they can have good reviews given how awful they have treated us as clients. If we could give negative stars we would. We purchased tiles from Roman Stone in Preston after a recommendation from our kitchen company supplier after their client purchased the same tiles. We tried to purchase them from a company local to us (Tunbridge Wells) where they were cheaper than Roman Stone however the delivery time was three weeks and we needed the floor laid for the kitchen installation. After speaking a very curt/ rude chap on the phone we purchased 34 m2 (approx £1644 including VAT) of the Montpellier Talco porclain tiles for our kitchen. Payment was made in full and we received delivery. I was out during the time of delivery and there didnt seem to be an issue. We stored the tiles in the room adjacent to the kitchen however I made an error and did not count the number of packs and tiles delivered ( I trusted that the company would honour its commitment to provide the correct amount as per the order and payment). I was concerned that we had not been sent any delivery documents (and still haven't or confirmation of payment/ receipt - they say they only send this hard copy and not electronically). When the tiler came the following week he counted the packs of tiles and tiles and it was short by 4 m2. So instead of 34 m2 I had only been sent 30m2. At the time I didn't think that this would be an issue and contacted Roman Stone. I knew that I had to purchase at least another 15 m2 for another room so thought they could send the boxes that had been left off with the new order. This is where the issues started. When I phoned to make them aware that they had sent only 30m2 and not 34 m2 I was met with hostility and rudeness. The person that I spoke to (Jay - possibly short for Jabbir Ahmed on the receipt). Jay was incredibly rude and immediately defensive. He told me to check my documents which I had explained I did not have as they hadn't been sent. He then said he had them on his desk and they only get sent out every two weeks! He then asked when I ordered the tiles and when I checked them. A number of days had passed if not a week and it was only when the tiler came to lay the tiles that they were checked. He then asked if I signed for them (I hadn,t as I was not at home) and he said he had proof that I had. The delivery company since covid do not actually take signatures due to coivd! He was trying to find any reason not to send the missing tiles. He basically said it was my word against his! I offered him to visit the property and inspect the floor and count the tiles which he refused to do. Finally I said that I would need to buy more of the same tile anyway to tile the utility room. I was really stuck as the tiler could not finish the kitchen due to the missing tiles and I needed them from the same batch to get it finished. Jay said out of the four boxes missing he would send two at his cost and I had to buy two more and also he would only do this if I purchased the tiles from the utility room from them. I was completely at their mercy as I needed tiles from the same batch and also needed to get the kitchen floor finished. I purchased another £900 worth of tiles. When the delivery was made this time I ensured I was home to see it. The number of packs of tiles was correct. However this time a pack had been laid upside down and was damaged. Again I contacted jay only to be told that I was to use them in the cuts and also it was a free pack so he wouldn't send more/ refund them. There are other companies that provide these tiles for a cheaper amount per square metre and I would recommend you look around. I am happy to provide proof of my experiences with photos of the damaged tiles and boxes and also the testimony of the tiler. I would not recommend them or use them again.

  We don't normally write reviews regarding business deals but thought Roman Stone deserved a few moments of our time in order to share our experience with other potential buyers. "We searched high and low for the perfect stone and finally came across Roman Stone. We visited their showroom, which is a delight, very stylish and eye catching. Imy the owner offered us good friendly advice, followed by an outstanding service. We had many questions all the rights and wrongs! Imy was completely professional and totally unphased. We are grateful for his knowledge and the guidance he afforded us. The Porcelain Stone we chose looks stunning throughout our ground floor. We would strongly recommend a visit to Roman Stone to any potential buyer. You will not be disappointed." Initially we bought 88m2 but more recently ordered a further 16m2 to push into our side rooms. The stone comes from Italy, so amid our fears of the pandemic, we thought it would take some time. Imy had the answers and personally delivered the stone direct to our door, in fact he carried them in as well! Don't underestimate this man, he is helpful and ahead of the game. It has been a pleasure doing business with Roman Stone. To sum-up, we are so pleased with our new look, it is amazing and has brought a new dimension into our home. The comments we have received from family and friends speak volumes.

  Really lovely stylish showroom with a great selection of beautiful tiles at a good price. Was a potential problem with courier delivering on expected day but Imi from Romanstone sorted it and all arrived on time. Tiles look really really good now laid.
