I took my children for a tester last night at winsford brio centre.. amazing help from staff who all help give basics to the beginners my son is autistic but by end of session was skating holding just mums hands for reassurance .. and my daughter was off skating on her own. Even if she was like Bambi on ice we can’t wait to visit next week too

*ABSOLUTE CARNAGE* (Winsford Brio) I pushed for my 6yr old, confident skater to give it another try after the first time going with my Husband and hating how busy it was...So we went, I had an email asking me to book a ticket, which I did beforehand, only to stand for 20 mins in a queue with everyone else who hadn't bought their ticket. When we finally got to the front there was only one person stood taking payments and organising skate hire. We went to the 5pm session and got in at 5.20. It was packed full of skaters of all abilities, some of them were falling over and unable to stay upright, whilst others were whizzing round at break neck speeds. It was absolute chaos! There were a quite a few children who were knocked down by much older teens and adults. I spent the whole time having to power walk alongside my child as they were in fear of falling over. Surely it would be better to have sessions according to ability. Its a shame but having spoken to people who are regular skaters, it is always chaos! The best part was when my child asked if we could leave after being knocked down by a teenager girl who didn't even apologise.
