  Rob is without doubt fantastic at his job! He has created an amazing garden for our family. He listened to our vague ideas and delivered some beautiful designs. As with all designs, we made some minor alterations along the way and he was happy to tweak things until it was right. His planting plan was also beautiful and we can’t wait for it all to bloom in the spring! We took his advice with choice of landscaper (Rob W) who was also brill.   I first met Rob in what I can only describe as an interview (from Rob to me) in front of the blank canvas which was my back garden. I explained what the garden would be used for kids (so had to be low maintenance, robust etc), and big kids alike to enjoy. Rob went away and drew exactly what I described, and then translated that into the real thing. We were and still are shocked at the talent of this man and his builders (Rob W). From the initial discussions and drawings to the final structural design, Rob provided invaluable guidance on both practical and affordable solutions for materials, planting, lighting and layout. He also designed our stunning garden room which has maximised our useable space, complementing the rest of the garden and house. We’re also very pleased that we used Rob’s project monitoring service, which we felt was just as important as the design work.   We are so pleased to have chosen Robert Hughes Garden Design (Cheshire) to design and oversee a transformation of our side garden. The difficult challenge in our case was to achieve a quality split level contemporary design on an awkward shaped site. Rob's design not only met our brief 100% but thereafter, with various minor amendments, continued to surpass it. Apart from his exceptional design skills and friendly personality, Rob also has the benefit of past 'hands on' practical experience, and this really showed in his project management and our discussions on fine detail. Through Rob we had also gained the services of an excellent contractor. The end result is a beautiful garden which has hugely improved the enjoyment of our home and which friends and visitors often simply describe as 'stunning'. We cannot recommend him highly enough.   I Know Rob and how he works very well . We were partners for 6 years in Cardiff before he put down the tools and pursued his dream of moving closer to family and becoming a dedicated garden designer . The attention to detail and care he affords all his projects , whatever style , however grand or simple is exceptional and second to none. He takes so much pride in his work that the only outcome acceptable for him is the best outcome when it comes to landscape installation. And this is a very important attribute that Rob possesses ,in that he knows the ropes when it comes to installation and he will insist on all aspects of an installation being done properly if he is project managing. My business was arguably one of the best landscaping companies in Cardiff back when Rob came on board , the reason he said he wanted to be part of it , but theres no doubt that Rob has left the company in a better position with regards to its portfolio and reputation due to his influence during his years with us.
