Robert G Tuckey is uniquely traditional. It is rare to find an abattoirs and butchers under one roof. It's historic too. 50 years strong, surviving through strict legislation changes of yester-year and recently, the covid pandemic. Tradition is echoed in its signage and old fashioned, mobile vegetable stall parked outside. Inside, you'll find a raft of conveniences: Cheeses, breads, vegetables, eggs and, of course, meat. There is unprocessed, processed, cooked, uncooked and everything in between. What I love about butchers is the personal touch: approachable, chatty, customised. The produce is top quality at an excellent price. My full english zinged, even more so when prepared with a side of Silver Tree Bakery bread.
