Rob is extremely professional and a great guitar tutor! He is friendly, thorough in his teaching and explanations, and has a patient manner which is particularly good for beginners. I have been having video lessons during covid where Rob has ensured they are as equally beneficial as face to face sessions and have remained consistently valuable throughout. I'm looking forward to continuing my lessons with Rob in future :)

I've had guitar lessons with Rob for a few years now and I can highly recommend him as a guitar teacher. His teaching style is really flexible and he will adapt the lessons and material to suit your needs. My lessons with Rob have made a huge difference both in terms of my playing as well as my understanding of how to use the instrument when writing music. In addition- his knowledge of music theory and arranging just adds that bit of context that is often missing from music education. I started having my lessons in Leeds and I have continued with them after Rob moved to York. I guess that says it all

I started being taught by Rob over 3 years ago. I’d never played any instrument before then and turned up knowing very little about music let alone chords and notes !! . I can now knock out the odd tune or two and most of my friends would say I can play. They even recognise some of the tunes. Rob tailors his lessons to your ability but always plans with an outcome in mind and will tutor to cater for any style. Lessons are stretching but pitched at the right ability level but overall a great learning and enjoyable experience. Robs overall attitude (with me anyway) is to develop a style where you enjoy learning by playing rather than too much theory but it’s clear he knows his stuff in that area as well and it’s very clear he is a versatile musician so lessons can change to suit the situation Ive developed into a reasonable player for my ability and would heartily recommend Rob to anyone who wants to learn or improve their playing ability.
