We had a lovely visit to Madeira in spite of the unseasonable weather. The scenery was amazing the variety of the different tours was very good. Best of all was Maggie our tour guide who was fantastic. I was very anxious at the the beginning because at the last minute my friend was unable to come but Maggie really supported me. When Storm Oscar hit the island & planes couldn't land Maggie stayed with us, keeping us updated on situation & making sure we were all in the same hotel overnight. The next afternoon she came over to make sure we all got on the coach & were able to get home. What a great tour guide.

Israel was our 2nd holiday with Riviera following a good holiday in Sicily last year (although this had some minor accomodation issues which were resolved at the time by an amazing guide). Unfortunately comparatively the Israel guides we had put in only the minimum effort, but worse we felt that the Israel holiday was mis-sold. Israel has a history with incredible depth and variety as well as a multi-cultural richness. Instead the holiday was a Christian pilgramage which is great if you are Christian and want to see all the main Christian sights and spend time listening to Bible readings ... but if you are not, I would suggest choosing a different provider that understands the context of the country and delivers a balanced multi-faith, multi-dimensional and culturally relevant agenda. Before booking I had checked that this was NOT a religious holiday but alas that is not what we experienced (e.g. unless you dont mind queueing for over three hours at the Church of Nativity to see where 'Jesus was born' and visiting the the church where the Shepherds definitely(?) tended their sheep at the time, etc). Out of the 7 days there we did the last two on our own and afterwards wished we had done the entire trip by ourselves. If you are into culture, meeting local people, history and archeaology then in my humble opinion I wouldnt choose Riviera for Israel.

i have an 18months nice with an apsess under her arm she was taken to someone that call himself doctor hi send her to hospital the hospital cant treat her because she is under 5the nhs exist only in name how can any one have the hart to refuse help to an 18 months baby? is this a civilised country were is the government?

We have recently returned from touring Vietnam and Cambodia. We were very pleased with all aspects of our trip. The hotels were all excellent and all our flights were on time and relatively stress free. The itinerary was varied with trips to see palaces and museums with a huge acknowledgment of both country’s recent turbulent history. The whole trip was facilitated by our tour leader Shane, who was an absolute star. A cross between the first team captain and a mother hen, he looked after us all superbly - top man.

In September 2022 my wife and I booked an 8 day river cruise in May of this year. In December 2022 I was given a prognosis that my cancer had spread and that it was probably terminal. Holiday insurance cost's shot through the roof becoming more expensive than our holiday.. We notified Riviera Travel of our problem, and carried on searching for an affordable insurance and contacted RT to discuss our options. After waiting in a telephone queue for over half an hour, we were cut off with the message that they would call us.. This was Saturday and we called again, Monday morning., and proposed that we changed our holiday for one in the UK.. Riviera Travel refused point blank. and took our £1000.00
