Placed a deposit on a car and my partner arranged for us to come down at 11am. We drove 2 hours to get here. We arrived at just gone 11 and was told we were early, and sat and waited over half an hour to be seen. We were pressured to pay for the vehicle before we had even seen it which obviously we refused. We finally got to see the car which was covered with multiple stone chips, which is fine-age related and to be expected, but they were touched up with the wrong coloured paint which they “hadn’t done” but conveniently had been parked inside overnight I suspect to allow the paint to dry, a large dent, and a panel which did not line up. On top of this, we were told to take it for a test drive along the motorway, with a fuel light on and probably not enough to even get to the motorway. When bringing this up to the manager, we were blamed as “we needed it in a rush”, he admitted it had had a knock to the front but also had a repair to the rear we were not told about, and that the dent had not been picked up in the inspection and it should have and for my troubles, insulted me with £100 price reduction to which obviously we declined. Had this have been included in the video, obviously we wouldn’t have wasted the time or fuel. I would avoid.

Peter Fowler was a pleasure to deal with; what a lovely chap. Exemplary customer service, honest and informative all through the process. Love my new Swift, no. 5, have always gone through Richmond Suzuki Fareham. Would totally recommend.

Tried hiding an accident damaged Grey m140i - with an entirely new front end AE66 TZL. Dishonest con-men. I will be writing to Suzuki aswell. Drove 100 miles to see a grey m140i - 66 plate. They advertised it last week and has taken an entire week for it to be ready and have gone through prep. Car is a 66 plate, entire front end has been replaced with a part date created in 2022. Back tyres barely legal. Front tyres completely different so you can tell the shunt happened on the front left. When called out on it - the branch manager decided to get aggressive and defensive saying that is the way they bought it, it’s been repaired, and it’s gone through their service check. Absolute con men. They’ve got another buyer lined up for the car who offered to pay the deposit also. Completely tanks the value of the car if they are honest and state the front end has been shunted. When we turned up Geoff had the car engine on and was sat inside, to warm it up, so probably has an engine issue aswell. Soon as he was called out on the front end being completely different to the rest of the car, decided to head back inside and hide. I will be taking this further if I do not have my £99 deposit returned.

Daunting thoughts of first time searching and buying a car on my own but all those fears fell away when Geoff the sales representative first met with me. In addition, I was supported and looked after by also Mr B. Fagan the branch manager. The experience buying an accredited used car from this branch was carried out with professionally and with great skills from Geoff. Furthermore, communication was engaging and you were involved every step of the way, no nasty surprises at all. Nothing was of trouble for the entire team there at Richmond Suziki Botley. I can definitely recommend their services any day.

Be very careful when buying a warranty from these people . When the people there ask you to sign for an extended warranty on a used car though Hyundai finance , There is no cooling off period , You cannot change your mind at all and you will find yourselves with the bill to pay. I was specifically told that I could go home and read the terms and conditions at my leisure , But sign first , They Claim to be regulated by the consumer credit act . They are only after your money !!!

I won't be going back. First meeting, lovely, friendly, promised the earth, we paid for insurance, parking permits and then we came down from London and Newbury to collect and drive it back. My view is that they lacked honesty and integrity. Yuck. Hated the experience. Annoyingly, they didn’t have to lie and if they had been honest it would have been better for everyone. Reminds me why people say things about used car salespeople. Thumbs down for Jeff who seems to have knowingly lied and Sadie who was the messenger for it all and responsible for the lack of openness on #3. Here are a few things that happened: 1. Me: "There is a small chip in the windscreen" > Jeff "We'll fill it, no problem" > PAID DEPOSIT, DRIVE BACK TO COLLET CAR 7 DAYS LATER > "It’s still there, it wasn't fixed" > Sadie: "Jeff did the gel fix himself, its fixed" > “Why can I still see it and get my nail in it?” > "That's how it's supposed to be" > "Can you show us proof that is was done" > "No, but it was done with other cars on one invoice" > "Can you take responsibility for not fixing it if it gets bigger" > "No". 2. Me: "There are LOADS of pain chips over all over the bonnet and sides, wow" > Jeff: "We can fix them up for you" .... "They are worse now, you've missed loads and the ones that have been 'fixed' looks like they have been done by a child with a matt black sharpie, it’s ruined the pain finish"> (Sadie avoids eye contact and goes to check with the ‘boss’ several times…) "It's retail standard" > "Why did you offer to fix it and then make it worse?" > "Have a touch up kit" (an old pot from 2013 or something with no legible text) 3. Sadie: "Every car comes with a 130 point check and this one has a full service history and still time on the warranty, it’s a great little car" (with paperwork held in front of her > "Great" … “Here is all your paperwork” > “Oh, this is news, 4 advisory warnings from the last service, why didn’t you mention these last week” > “It’s a used car, of course it will have things wrong with it” > “Wouldn’t it have been more honest just tell us last week” (Sadie avoids eye contact). 4. The cleaning was also very poor. Still very dusty when we collected it and boot dirty etc. The busy road was blamed but it absolutely was not cleaned, still had some leaves inside the boot and a thick layer of dust on windscreen in the corners. 5. Sadie: “well if you aren’t happy we’ll give you a full refund on your deposit” > “As you know we’ve just travelled a long way to get here, and spend money sorting out the insurance/permits”. They were mostly cosmetic, small things, so we decided to proceed but made it very clear we weren’t happy about the above and are fairly sure they lied about #1. The experience from visit 1 to visit 2 was distinctly different. I won’t buy anything from those two again, no matter how friendly they are on visit 1, trust is broken.
