My wife Rosamond was discharged from Richmond House yesterday. When I asked her what it was like as covid didn't allow me to visit, she said very old fashioned inside could do with updating. Her bed was like no other she had ever seen! They are very lacking in staff and at times one carer is left to deal with 15 patients. This needs looking in to as the carers and nurses are wonderful. The food there is tasteless although it looks good there is little flavour, the lunchtime soups though are very good. I do hope improvements can be made as there is such a shortage of care homes. I hope this review helps.

Review My mum was taken to Richmond House Leigh after being in hospital for 3wks. Originally she should have been going to Westwood Lodge Wigan but after being a mix up at the hospital mum was taken to Richmond House. Carers I have met when visiting have been friendly. Nurse I met was very abrupt telling me and my daughter not to visit during meal time which I can understand but the time was 1.15pm and mum was in her room not in dinning room told me to take photo of meal times. Food -I understand you are on a budget. Porridge oats were uncooked. Jacket potatoes on SundayđŸ¤” with cheese which she also had on Friday it was still on her table when visiting after 6pm. As mum is there for respite you would think food would be better quality. Mum isn't a big eater but what she does eat is always good quality. We looked at your website and reviews before mum came and thought this was going to be great for her to get better and return home. As the NHS is paying for respite in carehomes and residents and families are funding for there loved ones care food qualities need to be looked into and improve. Poor. Looking forward to hearing your response in this matter. Elaine

I am proud to say that I have worked at Richmond House for almost 20 years, along with other long-time serving nurses and carers. If I could rate my ‘home from home’ more than 5 stars then I would.
