We approached Rhiannan because we were struggling to understand our two and a half year old son’s speech. Almost every syllable began with a ‘d’. Rhiannan assured us that his speech problems were common, though he did have quite a lot of them. We saw Rhiannan about 12 times and by the end we were confident that he had progressed to a stage where no further sessions were required. The sessions with Rhiannan were friendly and relaxed. At the beginning they were mostly about how we - his parents - could reinforce good listening habits and encourage our son to talk. As he progressed, the sessions focused on making the right sounds and distinguishing between sounds or clusters of sounds. Rhiannan was very good with engaging with our son and using games to keep him motivated, which allowed her to hold his attention while doing the exercises with him. She also suggested games and other activities that we could do at home between sessions to reinforce his learning. We have been thrilled by our son’s progress and would certainly recommend Rhiannan to anyone who had concerns about their child’s speech.

We saw Rhiannan last week, with my 5 year son, who has had ongoing problems pronouncing the letter 'S'. Whilst his issue has almost cleared, Rhiannan was excellent with him and handled him so well, ensuring he instantly communicated with her so she could make her assessment. She was friendly, reassuring and clearly really knowledgable. Would definitely recommend.

We took our son to see Rhiannan when, at 2 1/2 years old, he didn't speak at all. In the assessment, she used an iPad to record our interactions with him and showed us how we could increase opportunities for him to communicate with us using the skills he already had. It was really interesting and enlightening and we found her advice simple to incorporate into our daily life. With Rhiannan's guidance we were first able to help him to express his wishes and preferences through signs and sounds. Later he was able to speak his first words, and then she helped us to develop his speech patterns and vocabulary. Her suggestions were easy to put into practice and gave great results. She also gave us much-needed support and guidance as we went through the process of looking for the cause of his language delay and an application for help when he went to school. I would highly recommend her service to anyone looking for help with their child's speech. Rhiannan's therapy made a huge and lasting difference for our son and for us.
