Retroglaze were superb from start to finish replacing every window in our listed home. The job was far from straightforward but Philip and the team communicated accurately and honestly at every turn, managing our expectations throughout the project; completing the work on time and on budget. The quality of the work was flawless. Overall cost was more than competitive and I would strongly recommend the services of Retroglaze in the future.

Incredibly skilled workmanship which restored and upgraded four large sash windows to outstanding double-glazed units. Managing such a artisanal and bespoke business in such a time of supply-chain and material price uncertainty, globally, is a huge feat - worth the patience and understanding from customers if they want the job done right by such skilled tradespeople.

The original windows of our 1930s bungalow were attractive but in disrepair, and their appearance was marred by ugly secondary glazing. Rather than replace with UPVC we decided to go down the renovation route, and were lucky enough to find Retroglaze. Philip, who runs the company, talked us through the process and showed us examples of other projects he had worked on, including some very impressive work renovating the windows in the National Portrait Gallery. Despite the fact that our job was tiny in comparison, Philip went out of his way to ensure we felt prioritised. Unfortunately, supply chain issues due to Covid and Brexit meant completion of the job was quite severely delayed but Philip and his team kept in touch, making sure we were aware of progress at all times. Although the job took longer to complete than anticipated, we are delighted with the appearance of our newly renovated windows. Philip has built a team of highly experienced and talented craftspeople and it really shows in the exceptional finish they have achieved.

Phil and the lads could not have been more helpful when replacing all the front windows of our bar. They kept us informed of any issues that arose during difficult times when supplies were taking longer and sometimes almost impossible to source. We could not be happier with the results and have recommended them to numerous customers looking for window replacement in our conservation area.

Amazing service from start to finish from Philip and the Retroglaze team. They communicated well and unlike most contractors always left the area clean and tidy after any works carried out. I would highly recommend Retroglaze. Many thanks

On 6 January 2022 we paid a deposit to RetroGlaze to supply and fit French doors. Subsequently we added windows to the order. We have paid a deposit of £7368.82. On 14 November 2022 we were told the company accepted it had not installed in the time agreed. We asked for the return of our deposit. A year on, the doors and windows have not been installed and none of our deposit has been returned. Howard Riddle CBE

Having purchased a beautiful Victorian house in Ramsgate that needed some serious renovation, one of the first jobs was to double glaze the main bay windows on the ground and first floors. A friend told me that you could have thin double glazed units inserted into the original window frames. I was slightly sceptical because they were in bad repair and being original, we're quite thin frames. I couldn't see it working. I phoned a couple of firms, one of which didn't bother coming back with a quote, the other saying it couldn't be done. Then, luckily, I chanced upon Phil and Steve (Retroglaze). Not only did they say they could do the work but their price was comparable to replacing the whole thing with uPVC - the alternative option I didn't want to make. They said they would insert the new ultra-slim double glazed units and, in addition, would repair any damaged woodwork, supply and fit new window furniture and insert draught proofing around each opening window. Also they would have repaired the seriously damaged leaded light windows at the top of the downstairs bay including the supply of two new matching leaded light windows. To be honest this all seemed too good to be true. How absolutely wonderful (and relatively unique) that, when a lot of tradespeople these days seem to want to take your money for the least amount of work, Retroglaze lived up to their word. They did an absolutely superb job and even though there were a few unforeseen problems they encountered, they dealt with it all in a totally professional manner. Because of this, it took a little longer than they originally envisaged but they stood true to their original quotation. I am over the moon with the final result and cannot praise Retroglaze highly enough. They have done a splendid job that others said couldn't be done. It's reassuring to know that there are some highly-skilled, professional workers out there that genuinely take a pride in their work and that the phrase 'customer service' really means something to. You will not find a better company to deal with. And what's more Phil and Steve are a thoroughly decent couple of blokes to boot!

One of the poorest customer experiences we have had after living in 3 continents. No one manning the phones, a 3-6 week response time to emails after chasing continuously, false promises, and, after 6 months of back and forth, no action to replace a window pain that was promised. Since then, complete and utter silence and absolute disregard for the customer. If you want to waste your time, your money, and get nothing in return, this company is for you. Bon chance.
