I’d like to say thanks to Alan and Dota for the recent work they have carried out on two of my violins and one of my bows. The restoration/maintenance work carried out on the bow was so effective it looks brand new. Tonal adjustments and maintenance tasks carried out on the violins were top-notch. Absolutely top notch experience. I'm a professional freelance musician and whilst working in the area my Violin was badly damaged. The repair was done swiftly and to the highest standard. It's clear that Dota and Alan care a great deal about their work and therefore understand just how much performers care about their instruments. Best experience I've had with luthiers, not to mention they're very friendly, clear and fair. Often hard to come by with specialists. Went back for a rehair and it was very good also. It's a big thumbs up from me!

Thank you Resonant Strings for making me a very special viola. It was lovingly crafted by you and it was an absolute joy to watch it taking shape when I came to your workshop for visits. Not only does it look beautiful, with your particular hallmarks and details, it is wonderful to play. Right from the start this viola had a generous and warm sound which goes on developing and maturing. It works on all the strings and in high positions with an evenness of tone. But, even more importantly, it has its own character and temperament with hidden depths to discover! All violas are different and unique which makes them such fun and a challenge to play. What more can I say, other than I am loving my time getting to know this new special friend in my life. Thanks again.

I started playing the violin about two years ago when I was 78 years old but I needed a new violin. My teacher recommended a visit to Dota. We were able to try a number of instruments and were able to take the chosen one home for a few weeks to make sure it was right for me. I now have the most beautiful and loved violin on which I practice for many hours a day! When I’m feeling a bit glum about lack of progress I look inside my violin for inspiration where a handwritten message says “Made by Dota Theodoridis - England - With love” - this really does inspire me to persevere! Visiting Dota in her workshop was a wonderful experience- it was full of love and warmth. Thank you Dota!

Since moving to Norfolk from London 18 years ago I was apprehensive to change luthiers , however ,my violin has never been in such expert hands and I will never go anywhere else now! I have used resonant strings for a wide range of services ,from replacement fingerboard, to changing the sound quality on a particular string. Whatever it is I have always been thrilled with the results .Over the years I’ve sent pupils to Resonant strings for new bridge fittings , peg fittings, restoration of old instruments , bow re -hairs and many other repairs . Dota and Allan are so helpful and friendly - you won’t find more expertise anywhere in uk .
