Speaking from 3 months working as a production assembler I'm sure the working experiense can differ greatly depending on your department. There is a lot of inconsistency with standards and a lot of favouritism. My favourite example of this would be playing pool with a colleague and getting back from lunch 1minute late. Then getting nasty looks from a coordinator, only then for that coordinator to play pool with the same colleague after lunch had ended. Sadly rega regularly let people go without notice, a reason or even speaking to them. I was told that I was good at what I did and that I shouldn't worry about being kept on a regular basis. I did not let this make me complacent and did what ever I could to get better among other things. Getting to the point... I was let go after a day of praise for good ideas and working hard. Only to get a phone call out of nowhere 1 hour later saying I was not to return. They do not care if you start work early or work through lunch at busy times so don't bother.

I walked into Grahams in Islington a while ago. I explained I’d bought a Rega Planar 3 from them 35 years previously and the belt had now perished. The sales consultant said, “That’s just before I started working here”. Of course, they stocked the replacement I needed. At least some good things stay (more or less) the same.

One of the best companies I have the pleasure of visiting. Has a very Dutch feel about it. People definitely matter in this company even down to the fact that the staff get breakfast and lunch provided by a chef using top quality ingredients. Better food here than a lot of restaurants.
