I visited the Red Lion at Whittlesford, near Duxford, for the civil wedding ceremony of our Great Godson. The venue was superb and beautifully decorated for the wedding reception. The staff were very attentive. The hot food provided was well presented, and good portions served. The cold evening buffet was excellent, presented well, and all food allergies were catered for. The only downside was the price of liquid refreshments, which were a little expensive. My family and I didn't book accommodation, so I am unable to comment. The whole day ws a wonderful experience

Frozen - the sequel. Arrived at the room and it was freezing. Asked about a portable heater and they said there weren't any available as they were all allocated. Offered another duvet so I accepted. It made no difference to the room temperature, so I asked about another room - told fully booked. Then a maintenance person was sent over and he advised that the Lock Shield was not fully opened. He then returned with a portable heater (remember they said they had none....) and said he would ask the bar to offer a free drink to make up for the hour lost waiting around in a cold room. The room took until 2.00am to warm up. Asked about a partial refund and was told that they would honour their cancellation policy. However, I did not cancel so not sure what means... Disappointed with the customer service as we all know things can go wrong but being Elsa for the night, it made for a very cold night.
