Extremely well maintained, well appointed, and luxurious self-catering accommodation. Remote location on a private estate off the A59 North West of York, but close to York & Harrogate/Knaresborough and with local walks available including access to the nearby River Ouse. Top notch and can't recommend too highly.

This is a perfect place to come for a restful caravanning holiday. We have been here many many times before and every time we come we have a wonderful time. The facilities on this site are first class and the swimming pool is very nice indeed. The owners of this estate are also extremely friendly and polite it is always a pleasure when we go to see them. We will be there again this year and can’t wait for a truly relaxing trip away I would highly encourage anybody to give this site a go

Our party of 9 thoroughly enjoyed our weekend stay at Prince Rupert House. The property has a lovely ambience and it was the perfect place to celebrate a birthday and a wedding anniversary. We enjoyed our welcome pack and were surprised at the more than ample supplies of crockery, cutlery and cooking accessories as well as supplies of basic kitchen necessities (washing up liquid, cling film, foil, condiments etc etc). The owners were quick to respond to my e-mailed queries before our visit and were available on site if we’d needed them. A great place to stay.

Perfect weekend for our family get together. We stayed in Rupert House & it’s 5 bedrooms and bathrooms gave us the ideal accommodation for 4 couples and twin toddlers. Spacious rooms, fully equipped and our hosts were prepared with stair gates and beds moved for the boys. Beautiful surroundings, close enough to York, we used the park and rides to get in and out of the city. We will be back next year. Thanks to our hosts.

Garden Cottage provided a very comfortable base for our weekend family gathering in York. The cottage was beautifully clean and well equipped. Everything was new and worked. Having four double bedrooms with ensuites made it feel luxurious for everyone. The kitchen/dining room/sitting room is huge and made very cosy with a log burner. The garden is smallish but securely fenced in so was good for our dog. The surrounding estate looks fantastic, but we didn't get to enjoy it much in wet February weather. And just 15-20 minutes from York by car. Altogether, can't fault it for a relaxing weekend or longer in the area.

We cycled to Red House Estate from a nearby village to visit the fantastic little 17th century private chapel. We were not disappointed. The chapel was open, and there was a great little booklet which told us all about the history of it.

Beautiful CL site. If you love horses you'll love it here. Free tennis court, croquet lawn and heated swimming pool. Toilets a bit of a walk but that's my only criticism. Staff are amazing. 5 mins from the park and ride into York. Brilliant!
