These guys didn't collect our bins for 6 weeks, by week 6 our bins were over flowing. So we double bagged everything we couldn't fit in, then put them on top of the bins in the hope there would be some kind of understanding. The roadworks which we assumed had stopped the lorry were gone by week 6. They then proceeded to just empty the two bins, and dump all the other bags on the floor. By the time we got home.from work the birds had torn the bags open and covered the pavement in rubbish. On calling the council to report on Tuesday when the collection was on Friday, I was told I had to call the next working day. Because I didn't call on the Monday, or rather, couldn't get through on the Monday after being on hold for 40 minutes, I was told there was nothing they could do because I had overloaded my bins, and I should go and read the rules on the council website... We tried to do things by your rules and you left us piled up to the eyeballs with rubbish... They then told us to book a tip run, yet didn't offer money off our council tax. Funny that.

Absolutely useless council. We pay some of the highest council tax rates in the UK and our roads are in a dire state with pot holes everywhere - This has consequences for residents in the form of extra car maintenance costs..... The council barely get the basics right with such low standards that they cannot meet their normal service expectation and routine processes are a shambles. Call handlers are not interested in any situation and follow a rigid script with no thinking required. Recent building approval at the old Reading golf club site (with a multi-million pound council buyoff - Yes, the no vote was u-turned with extra money from the developer despite 3000+ objections) will likely not be seen to the benefit of residents. A true shame Reading is run this way.

BEWARE - RBC are happy to receive income from PCN’s even when single yellow lines are not maintained i.e. not continuous (barely visible)! A parking information sign was also not present in that section of the road. RBC’s attitude and actions boarder on the level of scamming the public.

If every time someone calls up, you have a queue of 10 people on hold, for years on end, you're probably not experiencing 'high volumes of calls', you're just severly underprepared to deal with the services which you are offering to residents.

I have two main reasons to give one star here: 1. I have been trying to get a bulky waste collection slot for over a month now. They say they release the slots everyday and ask you to keep checking. I have checked countless number of times and somehow there are no slots, despite of being released everyday. When I called the council to ask what time are they released, they didn't know. Unbelievable, given its their job to help people with these issues. 2. It's 2023, and the food waste still gets dumped into general waste in my building. When I requested for a food caddy, they said it's in progress and we will get one some day. Yes, SOMEDAY.

The amount of dislike I have for the council cannot even be described in words. I set up a direct debit for my council tax, money should have been taken out my account every month. I confirmed with my bank that this was an issue from their side, not mine as no tax was deducted from my account other than a £10 fee and now I owe a ton of money. Services are absolutely useless and appalling, an abomination to man kind. Absolutely disgusting, makes me sick.

If I good give 0 stars I would. Council is only interested in Money, no care for the residents. If you look at their permit charges they increase it every single year, this is clearly daylight robbery. Working people always get done over. What happens if 4 people live in the same house, work at different areas and times and they need access to a car, the other two people do not even get an option for a permit.
