AVOID AVOID AVOID. I would give zero stars if I could. I have used Rational FX multiple times in the past, last time was 5 years ago. This time--as always--I did a GBP/EUR exchange. I went to do it online as I have done in the past, but there was a glitch on the website so I called in my trade and the salesperson "Lewis" said he'd handle it. Trade done, he said I'd see the EUR hit my French account by end of business the next day at the latest if I wired my GBP to them by 2pm that day--which I did. Not only did I not see my EUR the next day, but it took EIGHT days of me calling every day asking where my money was, and Lewis fobbing me off to his back office. They finally did a "trace" on my funds after a week and informed me that my French bank--CIC--had put a hold on the funds and that they had been sitting, blocked for those 8 days. When I contacted my French bank, my banker told me the hold was there because Rational FX had not put the country of origin on the trade?!! Literally the most basic (and important) thing to put on an international money transfer and Lewis didn't put it on the trade? I did the money transfer to pay for work I was having done on my flat in France and for a week I had to ask my contractor not to cash checks for fear they would bounce. Unfortunately one did before I realized that my money was not arriving when they said it would. Shockingly bad service, total rubbish. Rational FX should not be in the banking business with mistakes like this. Take your business elsewhere.
