Nice hotel with 2 golf courses, spa's, treetop cabins and lots of other things going on. You Pay, I mean, You Pay! We get company rates but the overnight allowance doesn't cover starter, main and 1 drink, it's that kind of place. Rooms are tidy but beginning to show decline, mine had a poor ish carpet and door handle hanging out of the bathroom door. Bed comfy if a touch soft. Asian Fusion restaurant was nice but think for the money they could still be a touch better, honey chilli chicken was good but very basic but edible enough. Breakfast is the usual hotel buffet but good sausages and well done bacon! Bonus. Staff were good all the way from check in to check out.

Always enjoy staying here when in the area on business. Good rooms, good staff and a great selection of restaurants and bars on site. Great breakfast too!

Overall, I'd summarise my stay as average and I feel I'm being generous saying that. The place is a rabbit warren of narrow corridors - to get to the restaurants, bar and events area. Not great for people with limited mobility. I ate in the carvery area and the choice for vegetarians is limited to vegetables and salad - though I was offered a Yorkshire pudding. The salad bar was dried out foods and the vegetables had obviously been sat for a while and were limp, dried out and tasteless. Staff in the bar were quite curt when serving and we had to go to a different bar to get drinks rather than getting them from the quaint bar next to the restaurant though we got moved to the other bar about 10pm. I was hoping breakfast would be a better experience, sadly it wasn't. The fresh fruit was chilled to the point of being frozen, the muesli tasted stale and the small cheeses were cheap and rubbery. The room was OK, and it was nice to have windows that actually opened. It was clean, spacious and had a good shower.

Went on a golf package. Hotel rooms food and service was excellent with great facilities. Clubhouse for golf caters for a large variety from golfers to casual visitors. Big downsize was the condition of the Cathedral course. Fairways very poor condition and greens bumpy. Rough not cut and wet so as could not allow driven buggies on course although this was mentioned this could be the case despite it being dry and sunny all week.

Went there to play golf 13 May while hotel and clubhouse were excellent can't say the same about the courses the cathedral course was mediocre ie the fairways needed cutting, to many blind shot's no direction markers on the fairways, ball washers had no water in a lot of them, very poor drainage throughout this course and very hilly you need a buggy but it was soft under foot. The Prince's course was better but soft under foot in place's
