Good car park beyond the boulders at the entrance and clear (sometimes muddy) paths through woodland with lovely birdsong. The woods open out onto heathland and dogs need to be on short leads during nesting season (March to August). Dog-friendliness: Lovely walk through woodland for dogs but they must be on short leads on the heathland to protect ground nesting birds from March to August

Nothing but trees, hilly bits, and wide views across the avon valley Mainly naƕrow tracks. You dont want to go there. It's so easy to get lost amongst the vegetation.

A nice area of woods and heathland. The viewpoint gives a great view of the surrounding countryside, the Isle of Wight, and planes coming into land at Hurn Airport. It is possible to get lost, so be careful. One car park just off the road and another further in. Large boulders prevent large vehicles from entering the lane.
