As a mum who reads reviews! I had to make a review of my experience to help other parents currently looking for a place .. My child started at 7 months nearly 8 but due to her being quiet young she got all the illnesses from the kids/ adults at the time. We understood this would be the case as this happens all the time with kids who recently start nursery but it was very frequent almost too frequent that her dad asked the nursery to look into their cleaning/hygiene- after this she stopped being sick as frequently. The nursery staff that actually work with the kids are great and welcoming and me and my child liked them! So it’s bittersweet writing this review .. But the manager and the admin staff not so much! As a first time mum they talked down to me many times but little do they know as a first time mum I’m also x10 as cautious and careful when it comes to my child so felt that the fact they did this was very cruel and actually made me cry twice! I know they don’t do this to all the parents there so can appreciate the fact that not everyone will have the the same experience as I did. Nursery is only 2 min walk away from our house and at that time wasn’t driving so this was very convenient for us so I wanted it to like this nursery. The nursery put us on the waiting list during the pandemic (which was fine) but when it was about to open I emailed them just to enquire ‘Please could you let us know how long the waiting list is or if it's easier to please let us know when we will find out if taliyah has a place’. This was sent 13 May and they said they would get back to us once they have sorted out numbers (today is June 10 - still no mention) ..fast forward numbers seem to have been sorted as other parents already know they are starting in July. I then get a call this week telling us to get the rest of my daughters stuff by the next day or they are getting thrown away!!!!!! THIS WAS MY LAST STRAW!!! Nothing about the waiting list or even being courteous enough to consider if I’m available to even pick it up the next day?! I emailed the general manager highlighting my frustration and she messaged saying I can collect it any day. But she failed to understand that her original message was loud and clear! despite participating in all the nursery events, providing cake to everyone there on my child’s birthday and how close the nursery is to us. How we have been treated is beyond hurtful and I can’t with good conscience send my child there again! Furthermore, positive Criticism that I would give to the nursery is staff retention is poor - me and her dad have seen various new members of staff over the 6 months she was there. Also, not enough BAME children in my daughters class (black and minority ethnicities) And lastly please understand us as parents just want a loving and safe place for our children while we are at work trying to better their futures the way you treat us is just as important as the way you treat our children !! P.s taliyahs key worker and the manager of her room were lovely and this is no reflection on them whatsoever because of YOU was the reason we didn’t leave any earlier <3
