This base is severely understaffed. They keep losing people because they’re being transferred to other bases, and they haven’t sent us anyone new. They will soon have less than half of the necessary amount of people to be considered fully staffed. Currently, leave has been revoked. If the base continues at this rate, their operation/mission will be drastically affected by a decline in their unit's moral, mental health, and physical health.

I spent a couple of the best years of my life there in the mid '70s. As part of a very small U.S. Army detachment that were known as the long haired, big mustached group. They bussed in the Corby Commandos and Leichester Ladies on Friday and Saturday nights, to have fun and enjoy life with "the boys from the states" at the Aquarius Enlisted Men's club/disco & tavern. The Brits said the Americans were "overpaid, oversexed and over here". It was like a dream come true. We all had fun. The Brits loved us and we loved them. I skydived at nearby Peterborough. London and all the fun there was an hour away by train. Made good friends there. Great memories !!!!! I plan to revisit after covid simmers down.
