After the initial walk-in in the morning for a last minute appt I was relieved my trip to Cirencester wasn't going to be wasted after my previous optician (Boots) deemed arriving 9 mins too late. I was told to wait upstairs after arriving and the R J Holmes optician will be ready soon. After 20 mins with no signs of life I went back downstairs and the R J Holmes receptionist went to a back room out of sight so I walked out. The other issue was eye test/prescriptions using a exemption certificate, where it was deemed by the receptionist that the optician would clarify if I was eligible, even though I informed them this was the first eye test I had had for 2 years and the first ever using the exemption certificate. I felt this information should be provided at the time of booking so no confusion or embarrassment is caused when payment is requested ?

Excellent service and wide range of spectacle frames. The optometrist was extremely thorough, with a pleasant and reassuring manner. In addition to supplying me with a great new pair of glasses, they kindly repaired my old damaged ones so I have a spare pair in case of emergencies. Spacious, attractively laid-out shop.
