The food was actually very good and the staff were really friendly all as described on other reviews. But….. The place is absolutely filthy. From the black build up of body fat and grime on the main push point on the door to shelves the back of the counter that you couldn’t describe the months, maybe years of being left to gather dust/grime. I feel bad leaving this review as the people were such nice, friendly people which 3 of them were standing talking all the time I was present but obviously oblivious to any need to use the time cleaning. Dull tinsel from a Christmas period still sits on top of a picture frame, the white phone is covered in black grime. I could go on. I understand this cafe is a family legacy of the best part of a century. If the current owner reads this - please respect the hard work done before you and your customers, clean the place and have some routine daily cleaning in place. 1 star purely on the hygiene aspect. Parking: Plenty outside.
