My many experiences with the Doctors at Putneymead Medical Center have been excellent. They have advised me thoroughly and professionally and have been very proactive when necessary. Dr Ernie is very professional. Highly recommend the practice.

You hear a lot of complaints about not being able to get an appointment these days but I honestly find the online booking tool brilliant. I’ve seen a series of specialists and physios through here and they’ve all been fantastic.

It’s a shame there’s not a zero or minus stars as 1 is very generous. Recently I’ve not been told the full extent of blood results. Doctors send texts out to say they will call to discuss results or forward information from hospitals and they don’t call. The reception staff are rude and sarcastic and rarely give their name when answering the phone (you just get “hello how can I help?”). There are more patients on their books than then can deal with (online it states over 26,000 patients). Emails sent to the Admin team are either ignored, picked apart and scrutinised especially if there are any words used that they don’t understand and correspondence received is never signed off with a name, so you are never really sure who you’ve dealt with (it’s signed off “admin team”). Overall it’s generally a horrid ordeal from making an appointment to attending at the practice and should you have a telephone consultation be sure to put your life on hold for the whole morning, or afternoon as time keeping is not on their agenda. I was with a surgery before they merged, since birth, and before the merging of so many practices I was extremely happy with the service I received. I think I’ve stayed with Putneymead as I rarely used them, as my health needs have changed and I now have to deal with this practice on a regular basis I realise how truly awful it really is. Dr Reading or Dr Aarons would have never treated their patients in such a flippant or neglectful manner. Neither would any of the staff they had working in the practice. Honestly Putneymead should score 0 or should dip into the minus stars which is a shame but very honest. If you are lucky enough that you may only deal with them occasionally with minor issues, this practice will be perfect for you. If however you are needing to rely on such a place for serious issues, or need them to be on point with meds or simply giving you test results go else where as like me you will soon realise they are not up to doing this consistently. This is very sad, frustrating and could one day prove to be fatal for somebody.

I selfishly want to leave a negative review so that the entirety of south west London doesn’t flock to this GP practice but actually they are fantastic & responsive. Easy to communicate with & able to get an appointment with in a reasonable time frame.
